This photograph was recently donated to our archive.
So why is this photograph a mystery ?
Well we know where it was taken - obviously it's the top of Priest Bank Road; and we have a good idea of when - probably in the 1920s or '30s. What we don't know is why ?
What is it about this view that was worth the time and effort that would have been involved in order to take it ?
